This Privacy Policy is a placeholder document. It must be replaced with a legally reviewed privacy policy before mainnet launch, particularly to comply with PIPEDA (Canada), GDPR (EU), and CCPA (California) requirements.
1. Information We Collect
Velonosis is a blockchain-native application. Your wallet address and all on-chain transactions are public by design — this is a fundamental property of blockchain technology and is not within our control.
We may collect the following off-chain data:
- Analytics events (page views, wallet connections, button clicks) — used to improve the product
- Error reports (via Sentry) — used to identify and fix bugs
- Partnership inquiry form submissions — used to respond to business inquiries
2. On-Chain Data
All prize pool entries, sponsorship relationships, and prize claims are permanently recorded on the Base blockchain. This data is public, immutable, and not subject to deletion requests. By participating, you acknowledge and accept this.
3. Analytics
We use PostHog for privacy-respecting analytics. We do not sell your data to third parties. Analytics data is used only to understand how users interact with the product and improve the experience.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
The Velonosis application uses browser localStorage to store:
- In-app notification history (keyed to your wallet address)
- UI dismissal preferences (e.g., welcome banner, network warning)
- Theme preferences
No tracking cookies are set. No third-party advertising cookies are used.
5. Third-Party Services
The following third-party services may process data:
- Chainlink VRF: randomness provider — no personal data processed
- The Graph Protocol: data indexing — only indexes public blockchain data
- Alchemy / Infura / Ankr: RPC providers — may log IP addresses per their privacy policies
- RainbowKit / WalletConnect: wallet connection — governed by WalletConnect's privacy policy
6. Data Retention
Off-chain analytics data is retained for 12 months. Partnership inquiry form data is retained until the inquiry is resolved or you request deletion.
7. Your Rights
For off-chain data held by us, you may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting build@velonosis.xyz. On-chain data cannot be deleted.
8. Children
This Service is not intended for individuals under the age of majority in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when changes were last made.
